Jean-Claude Berutti has been staging for 30 years for theatre and opera. Both successfully, both without any repertoire restriction. From Monteverdi to Berio through Verdi, Gounod and Wagner, he knows the classical opera repertoire more or less by heart. As he has outstanding musical knowledge, he is regularly invited to stage rarely performed operas with a strong theatrical dimension: Der König Kandaules by Alexander Zemlinski, Dantons Tod by Gottfried von Einem, Passagio by Luciano Berio, Lohengrin by Salvatore Sciarrino, to name just a few of them.
