Delphine Galou

Delphine Galou

Delphine Galou has a rare voice: low, rich and velvety. Her outstanding vocal technique combined with noble bearing allow her performances of the most virtuosic roles of the baroque repertoire that are characterised by radiance, agility and intensity. She is especially acclaimed for her interpretations of the roles Handel wrote for castratos such as Senesino, Giulio Cesare, Alessandro, and Andronico. Delphine shines not only in ‘trouser’ roles, she also has feminine elegance and grace, which makes her the perfect interpreter of roles such as Penelope (Il ritorno d'Ulisse in Patria), Zelinda (Teuzzone), Zenobia (Radamisto), Semiramis (Semiramis riconosciuta) and  last but not least – a rare incursion to the non-the baroque repertoire - Lucretia (The rape of Lucretia).
