Ausonia is an ensemble of instrumentalists and singers, founded and directed by Frédérick Haas and Mira Glodeanu, committed to bringing to life the music of the 17th and 18th centuries by means of dedicated application of historical performance practices and a continuous searching for the expressive possibilities inherent in this music.
Since 2000, Ausonia have been focusing on composers such as Biber, Francoeur and Rameau, among others. The numerous CD-recordings which mark out the high artistic level aimed by Ausonia have all been unanimously acclaimed by both the audience and the critics.
Internationally established, Ausonia has performed at Bozar Brussels, at the Flanders Festival, at the Festival de Wallonie, at the Centre de musique baroque de Versailles, at the Festival d’Ambronay, at the Festival baroque de Pontoise, at the Printemps des Arts de Nantes, at the Semaines Musicales de Quimper and at the Festivals in Sablé, Souvigny, Lanvellec, Arques-la-Bataille, Deauville, Catalogne Romane, Callas, Spa, Baarn, Abbaye du Relec, Abbaye d’Aulne. They have also performed at the Zamora Festival, at the St Petersburg Festival for Baroque Music, at the Brezice Festival (Ljubljana), at the Zagreb Baroque Festival, at Montréal Baroque, at the Wunderkammer Triest as well as in Bucarest, Cluj and Iasi in Romania.
